The Heart of the Game took eight years out of my life and gave me a new existence. Part magic carpet ride, part arduous mountain climb, part Nassau space launch the film launched me into the spotlight for a while and proved to me that holding onto a dream, holding spiritual intent and asking your loved ones to support you, works.
In early 2007 I went off to India for a six-week spiritual journey. I ended in Rishikesh, where the Ganges flows clear and clean out of the Himalayas. In contrast to America’s misplaced devotion to money and things I saw devotion to spirit, ritual and divine practice all around me.
I experienced cultural shock surrealism upon return to the U.S. as I went from a $3 a night room at an ashram to a $400 a night room at the Beverly Hills Hilton to accept an award for The Heart of the Game from the Women’s Sports Foundation.
I am currently writing a screenplay based on the tango dance and am preparing Woody Creek Pictures for more adventurous outings in 2008 and 9.
Stay tuned.
